About the Founder 
Nikisha M. Jackson, M.Ed., M.S.
Nikisha Jackson is the founder of WREM Literacy Group, Inc. Through her vision, she established a non-profit, community-based organization centered around a goal to enhance reading readiness, to motivate a love for learning, to instill a desire to achieve from K3-12 age groups. In addition, she has established programs to address adult illiteracy, counsel adolescent substance abusers, offer job-training to unskilled workers, and to mitigate the causes of family fragmentation. Under her leadership, WREM Literacy Group, Inc. provides the training for teachers to expound on their delivery of instruction for quality and effective results.
A product of the Dallas Independent School District, she graduated from W. T. White High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX. Driven to excel as an educator, she received a Master of Education in Curriculum and Administration from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas, and continued to obtain a second Master of Science in Reading from Texas A&M in Commerce. In addition, Ms. Jackson is a Master Registered Texas Early Childhood Trainer and a certified Reading Specialist and Master Reading Teacher for the State of Texas. She holds a Texas Licensed Chemically Dependency License (CI) and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education from Texas Southern University.
Ms. Jackson thanks God daily for the blessings that have been bestowed upon her, and because of these blessings, she wants to be a blessing to others. She conducts early literacy research, organizes and delivers professional development presentations, and field tests young children using various research-based strategies. She utilizes the data collected to formulate appropriate teaching methods, instructional interventions, and modifications that may be essential in strengthening a child’s ability to perform an assigned task.
The mother of two children, Frederick and Kynidi, Jackson believes that children are our future gems of tomorrow. A strong advocate of youth mentoring and empowerment , Jackson’s philosophy is simple “Children are what they are taught to be. We must teach the “whole child” how to be independent such that they become responsible and productive citizens in an ever changing society.” She was born in Shreveport, LA.
